Basel Chamber Orchestrabasel chamber orchestrabasel chamber orchestra this archive contains performance material and detailed documentary material from the basel chamber orchestra (basler kammerorchester, bko). founded by paul sacher as long ago as 1926, the ensemble gave a great many concerts of early and contemporary music before disbanding in 1987. many of sacher's commissioned works were written specifically for and premičred by the bko, including bela bartok's music for strings, percussion, and celesta, igor stravinsky's concerto en re, richard strauss's metamorphosen, and works by berio, britten, casella, fortner, halffter, henze, holliger, honegger, krenek, martinů, and others.

Swiss Music Libraryswiss music libraryswiss music library swiss music library the swiss music library was founded in april 1950 by marguerite staehelin (1906–2000). it functioned as the north american representative of the swiss association of musicians (schweizerischer tonkunstlerverein) with the aim of advertising and helping to market the music of swiss composers in the united states. its holdings include the voluminous correspondence that the library maintained with many composers, performers, publishers, institutions, and concert organizers, as well as a large body of documentary items, a music library, and a record collection.
